I have autism so now that I am neatly packaged in that box all can be well in the world. Laugh What are your current goals in life? Making myself and nonprofit successful. I will continue to help others, public speaking engagements and consulting when asked, produce amazing content, articles and features, and be an artist and photographer. I am the founder of two nonprofits, one I am the executive director of and the other I specifically work teaching technology to those on the spectrum through programs and courses I designed at no cost. I have my degree in communications with a minor in marketing and I am going back in two months for my MBA.
De facto living in governmental institution means complete isolation from the community. Currently governmental facilities cannot offer appropriate support and services for autistic people, there is lack of professionals with enough training to help autistic people to develop life and social skills. So even if people can avoid institutionalization, they often face isolation at home and additional mental health problems. In these cases autistic people become a burden to their families, especially parents, who are sometimes forced to devote all their time and resources for their loved one with autism with no external support. The Center will provide alternative support system for autistic adults in order to ensure their equal opportunities in employment, socializing and reaching out their potential.
