Schluender earned her doctor of medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Schluender moved to Tucson in to join Southwestern Surgery Associates. She is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. Schluender has been performing advanced laparoscopic surgery including single incision laparoscopic surgery since finishing fellowship in Since her practice has focused on robotic colon and rectal surgery. Minimally invasive surgery is used for the surgical treatment of colon and rectal carcinoma, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease and other benign colon and rectal conditions.
