By Christina Drury. The AMS transvaginal mesh implant lawsuit states that the plaintiff had the AMS Monarch vaginal sling implanted in July of as a treatment for her stress urinary incontinence. Following the surgery, the woman claims she suffered serious complications as a direct result of the faulty vaginal sling implant. Complications included vaginal pain, repeated urinary tract infections, difficulty urinating and bleeding. After enduring these complications, the woman plaintiff elected to have a second surgery to have the Monarch vaginal sling implant removed; however, surgeons were unable to completely remove it.
